SW Times Cool Deal

SW Times has a deal today where you pay $5 for a $10 voucher at Sip-N-Dipity.  Still pretty hot outside so this a great treat!

It's a great week to shop at Price Cutter!

I bought everything in the picture for a total of $15.25, tax included. I ad-matched from the CV's sales paper and combined coupons with current sales. I got:

(2) Wishbone Ranch Salad Dressing
(2) Ragu Pasta Sauce
(2) Boxes of Kraft Mac 'n Cheese
(6) Cans of Chef Boyardee
(2) Hormel Compleats Meals

Also, though the Harps summer game was supposed to end August 9, while supplies last, Price Cutter is doubling and tripling the game pieces you would normally receive for your purchases. So, in addition to a great deal on the items above, I received 24 game pieces!

Savemore.com

SaveMore.com is a site that allows you to get services or items at less cost than you normally would.  For example today's deal is a voucher from Basic Couture for $40 worth of products for $20.  It is apparel and home decor that you can personalize with someones name on it.  You purchase the voucher and then after the deal closes they will send you your voucher number so you can go buy your product directly from the site.  Very easy and a great way to get items for yourself or gifts for others for a great price!  Plus, they give you a $10.00 credit for signing up!  So you could get today's deal for $10 instead of $20.  Today's deal does not include shipping, but sometimes it does making for an even better deal.  There are new deals posted everyday and you can receive an e-mail telling you what the new deal is everyday.  So go sign up today!

Clipping Tip

I was watching the news this morning and there was a lady on there talking about couponing and they showed a clip of her cutting out the coupons one at a time!  Oh my goodness I sure hope none of you are doing that!  (If you are, pick your head up, today is your lucky day)

I too was an individual cutter, but no more, LOL!  Take the time to sit down on the floor or at a table, seperate your coupon inserts by type (ie. Red Plum, P&G, etc.) and then by each page.  The pages that are two together have been folded enough that they should tear apart easily.  Now lay them all out in groups.  Take a stapler and staple each stack in a few out of the way places and cut the coupons out all at once.  For example: The P&G insert had Cascade coupons again, stack all those pages together and cut the Cascade coupon out once instead of 5 times.  Now they are cut and sorted all at once instead of 5 different times.  This will cut your Sunday couponing work in half.  Plus, if you have your binder handy, you can put them away as you cut making it even better!

Big 25 or 32 oz Bottles of TRESemme Shampoo/Conditioner/Styling Products for $1.50 each at Walgreens

This shampoo and conditioner smells SOOOO good, and it comes in a good-sized bottle. I stopped buying it because it was a little pricey for the budget of a stay-at-home mom. But thanks to coupons, paired with Walgreens Register Rewards, we can get these big bottles for only $1.50 each. (Note - to get the shampoo/conditioner/styling products for this price, you'll need 4 of the TRESemme coupons found in the 07/31/11 Red Plum insert. I hope you bought at least 4 papers!)

The TRESemme shampoo/conditioner/styling products are on sale at Walgreens 4/$15, minus $5.00 RR, minus (4) $1.00 off any TRESemme shampoo/conditioner/styling products coupon = 4/$6 ($1.50 each)

Good luck!

I'm Back!

Did you miss me?  I wish I could say it was a horrible week without the blog, but alas I would be lying!  I didn't say before for obvious safety reasons, but we had our big vacation in FL.  It was so beautiful!  Feeling very blessed for the time away with family!

I am seeing tons of good deals to be had and will post as quickly as I can.  I will need time for the dreaded unpacking :-(

For now, myhabit.com has a new coupon code to get $25 off of your order of $25 or more plus free shipping!  Type in code INTLSHIP at checkout.

$15 for $30 at The Rib-Eye Steak & Seafood House

The Southwest Times Record has an online "deal finder" in which, if you are signed up, they will send you emails for good deals at local participating merchants. Most of the deals are usually good, but today's deal is REALLY good. It is for a $30 voucher to Rib-Eye Steak & Seafood House for only $15. You can choose to either print the voucher at home for free, or pay about $3.00 to have it mailed to your home address. There are usually limits on how many deals you can buy under a user name.

The Rib-Eye Steakhouse is located on Zero Sreet in Fort Smith, across the street from KFC, in that general area. I have only eaten there one time, and the food was pretty good.

If you're interested in buying this deal or signing up to receive the emails from Southwest Times Record about future deals, go to www.swtimes.com and click the box labeled "Click Here to Sign Up For Cool Deals" inside the "Cool Deals" box at the right side of the screen. You may have to scroll down a little to see the box.

Wow! I'm so far behind on letting anyone know!

Jacque is going to shoot me for not sharing this little diddy sooner!

CV's sale add has and in-store coupon for .99 on Skippy Peanut Butter. Use your Skippy coupon and get it for .24 before taxes =-)

I got three jars yesterday (with my daughter and husband's help) - all for less than $1!

All of the other things in the paper were things I couldn't help but think about what DeAnna has said about going to Price Cutter and getting double coupons. Just makes sense. Besides, Price Cutter will take Internet coupons where CV's won't.

Sorry for getting this out so late! By the way, CV's has sale papers right inside their doors, and the in-store coupon is inside it =-)

Head and Shoulders Shampoo/Conditioner for $2.50 at Walgreen's

Sorry this post comes so late in the week (only a fellow couponer would understand why Tuesday is actually quite late in the week for couponing!) Ha! I finally got to Walgreen's yesterday to try this deal on Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner. Most of you readers may have already found this little jewel, but if not, read on:

Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner/2-in-1 (14.7) oz on sale: 2 for $8
Minus $2.00 in Register Rewards = 2 for $6
Minus (2) 50-cent coupons from this past Sunday's Proctor & Gamble insert = 2 for $5 ($2.50 each)

I wanted to verify if using a coupon for an item that we must buy to earn Register Rewards would still let us receive the Register Rewards. It did!

FYI - This exact size Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 at Wal-Mart on Zero Street in Ft. Smith is $4.78, a savings of $2.28 per bottle.

Growing Kids Sale

I shopped for the first time at the last sale and outfitted my kids for summer for less than $200 and I got a TON of stuff.  I actually over did it because I kept finding such cute things.  I will consign this year for the first time and am very excited about it!  Hope everyone can check it out, I am sure you will be as hooked as we are once you do.  Here is some info about the sale:

Check out what all the moms are talking about!  The Growing Kids Spring Sale is coming up SOON! 1,500+ River Valley moms sell their gently used children's items, including clothing, shoes, toys, baby equipment, furniture and MORE!  It's your one-stop shopping extravaganza for everything your child needs for the fall and winter seasons...and at BARGAIN prices!  Sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, Sept 8-10th at Kay Rodgers Park Expo Building. More items added to the sales floor on Friday morning, and Saturday is 1/2 price day! FREE Admission & FREE parking! Don't miss it!!!  www.GrowingKidsSale.com

Reasons to Shop

• Low Prices - Consignors generally price their items between 20-30% of retail - that's a 70-80%+ savings for you! And don't forget half-price day, when many remaining items are 50% off!
• Quality items - We all know our little ones grow so fast that many items never get touched! Growing Kids makes every effort to only accept quality items without blemishes or excessive wear, so you'll know your selection is exceptional!
• Large Selection - with hundreds of consignors and 45,000 square feet filled with everything for babies and kids, you'll be sure to find what you're looking for - a ONE-STOP shopping extravaganza!

• Ease of Shopping - Unlike yard sales, you won't be sorting through boxes or piles of clothing. Our clothing is all hung on clothing racks, separated by gender and size, with matching tags in the same location on each piece, much like you'd find in a retail store!
• Convenient Hours & Location - Our hours are designed to give everyone a convenient opportunity to shop, including daytime, evening and weekend hours, and admission and parking are FREE!

"I got some super cute outfits for my 6mo old daughter for summer! Plus a bouncer and infant toys all for $32.50!!"

New Printable Coupons at Coupons.com

Coupons for Pillsbury, Old El Paso, and General Mills cereal. Print them before they're gone!

Jacque told me ...

Jacque told me a while back to make sure I walk around a store I am in. They sometimes have clearance items and things on sale that are not in the paper. Boy! am I glad she gave me that advice!

$58.59 value for $12.37 (but I also recieved 2 $5 rewards) So, spent $2 to get almost $60.

The cereal was in the add paper 4/$10, used a $1.25/3, and got the $5 reward. So was like spending .94 per box =-)

The breakfast bars were the same exact deal =-) The coupon only shows cereal but they took it for the bars. Woohoo! and those were NOT advertised in the paper.

Rubbermaid containers were advertised at 2/$5 but they rung up at 1/$1.99. Used my coupon $1/2. Got all 8 containers for $3.

I'm still learning but having a great time doing it. Thank you so much Jacque for all the lessons.

Leaven' On a Jet Plane.....

Okay, not really, but I got that song stuck in your head didn't I?!  Sorry, had to do it!

I am not leaving on a Jet Plane, I am deathly afraid of heights and wouldn't dream of it!  I am however going on vacation.  Technically speaking it starts today, however I can still pop in from time to time until late Friday when my husband sees my phone and tosses it out the window, lol!  Our family vacation starts this week and runs through next.  As much as it pains me, and it does, I have to leave the computer off and my phone with Internet access put away and my coupon book, lets not go too far!

The blog will be in excellent hands with my fellow Bloggers, Hope and DeAnna.  Please keep in mind that they are couponers in training and have lots of patience.  Feel free to leave comments or questions at the end of a post just like always.  And if you see something they may have accidentally missed, write that in too!  We are all here for each other, it is one for all and all for one in the coupon world.  Except on the clearance isles :-)

There are a few things I want everyone to keep in mind while I am gone:

• Printable coupon sites will reset their coupons the first of the month.  Including store coupons.
• Walgreen's will have it's new coupon booklet in stores Saturday and will be able to use it Sunday.
• Our current sale cycle is for Back to School items, so be on the look out for good sales on fall clothing, school supplies, and snack items and easy to pack lunch items.
• We are nearing the end of the summer season, technically speaking, so be on the look out for summer clearance items, stock up for next year.
• Remember the Tax holidays start the 5th.
• The 8/7/2011 Sunday paper will have 3 inserts, one will be Proctor and Gamble so be sure to get that one.

I will be back to the blog before you know it and I will pick up where I left off.  I am considering offering coupon classes, if anyone is interested send me an e-mail and I will respond when I get back.  There will probably be an minimal charge for supplies and gas depending on where I am teaching.  I will work it out and post about it when I return to the Blog.  Happy Savings to Everyone!

I will be on vacation starting Friday, so I won't be able to start until I return to the blog on the 8th.  My e-mail is lifeslowlane@gmail.com

Awesome Cottenelle Deal, Sunday Only!!

Toilet Paper is one of those things that I just hold out for as long as I can because I KNOW that I will get a good deal on it eventually!  Well now is that time!

Okay, it is the end of the month so that means Walgreen's is getting ready to put out their new coupon book for August.  The coupons in the book will be valid starting Sunday, July 31, 2011.  There is a coupon in the new book for $1.00/1 12 pk Cottenelle TP.  There is also **supposed** to be an unadvertised RR deal on Cottenelle TP for the month of July, meaning it ends Sunday, July 31, where you buy 2 get a RR for $3.50.  So use this to your advantage to make the following deal:

12 pks of Cottenelle TP, $5.00 ea
Buy  2 Receive $3.50 RR
Use $.75/1 Cottenelle TP
Or Use $.50/1 Cottenelle TP from their site, have to use different e-mails only 1 allowed
And Use $1.00/1 August Walgreen's Coupon Book (it will deduct $2.00)
Pay $6.50, Receive $3.50 RR
Final Cost: $1.50 ea wyb 2

**Now I have 2 notes on this #1 I can't confirm the RR deal in this area because I haven't tried it and neither has either of the other bloggers, (if you can confirm please leave a comment, thanks) and #2 this is a big deal, so I am guessing that by noon on Sunday there won't be any left on the shelves.  So if you need TP then be a die hard and wait up or set your alarms.  My no shelf clearing policy definitely applies here, this is a great deal for a lot of TP and everyone should get to enjoy the satisfaction**

Tax Free Holiday & Store Loyalty Programs

In case you weren't aware the 1st Arkansas Tax Free Holiday is going to be August 6 and 7.  The Oklahoma Tax Free Weekend is the 5th thru the 7th.  Check clearance racks for sure, if you found something really cheap and didn't have to pay tax on it, this would make for big savings, especially in Sebastian County.  There is a $3.00 off select denim jeans coupon on Target's website  Using this coupon with a clearance item and no tax could score some cheap back to school jeans!  Also remember my post from yesterday about Kohl's, sign up now, because it takes about a week to get the coupon.

If you have a favorite place to eat or shop, always sign up for their e-mail list, more often than not they will reward you with coupons or free items.  Plus you will get the e-mails letting you know about the best sales!  I am a Stripes Member at TGI Friday's, I got an e-mail last week that gave me a free entree with the purchase of one.  So we went while out shopping this weekend and got my husbands entree for free!  Plus every time you use the card you earn points towards more free stuff.  I get e-mails from Chili's and Denny's all the time too.  Each one of them gives me something free on my birthday.

Another place you want to be sure to sign up for if you have kids or grand kids is Toys R Us.  Geoffrey's Birthday Club lands us a $5.00 gift card every year on my sons birthday.  Again, pair that with clearance items and you get some good deals!

Curad Bandages Cheap at Wal-Mart and Walgreens

Curad Bandages $.99 @ Walgreens
$.50/1 Curad Bandages
Final Cost: $.49

Also check your Wal-Mart for these, reportedly some of them have them for $.94, which would make them a few cents cheaper.

Kohl's Clearance Racks!

Okay, I have been couponing for a while now and I have worked hard to learn everything I can.  At first I was foolish and thought I could only get groceries and toiletires for free.  Silly naive little me, HA!  Well now that I am a little (and I do mean little) older and much wiser I know better.  And because I think all my readers are entitled to be a little older , lets just go with wiser, I am going to share a few secrets with you!
My first one is Kohls, now you may already know this and be doing it, but I want to make absolutely sure you are doing it right!  Sign up at kohl's.com and register to receive their emails.  They will reward you with a $5.00 coupon right off the bat!  Plus 10% off your first online order.  Take the $5.00 reward coupon to Kohls, search the perimeter of the store for the big Clearance signs.  And find the racks for 75% to 90% off, yes they do exist.
Let me give you an example of why:
I signed up, got my coupon, and took it to Khols this weekend.  We didn't have a lot of time and were on a mission to find some shirts for my husband, so we hit the clearance racks in the Men's section.  They had several racks from 75% to 90% off.  Of course I headed straight for the big time, 90% off here I come!!  They had amazing deals on mens items, I could not believe the dress shirts they had.  Brands like Chaps and Arrow, marked down to $4.00!  My husband doesn't have to dress like that for work, nor would he probably if he had to!  So we looked at the more casual stuff.  We found a long sleeve shirt for $4.00 and a long sleeve shirt for $2.80.  Nice shirts too, not ugly or cheap.  Using my $5.00 coupon we paid a total of $1.97 for both shirts.
Using coupons from stores to buy items on clearance will land tons of free or nearly free items.  I am a big fan of consigning, but this is even better.  Brand new clothes for better than rock bottom prices.  I will be doing a break down in the next day or two of sale cycles that are coming up not only for food and supplies, but for clothing as well.  Stay tuned!

Swag Bucks

What is Swag Bucks?

Swag Bucks is a search engine site that actually rewards its users with "money."  Swag Bucks to be precise.  You use their search engine much like you would Google or Yahoo, but rather than just getting your info and moving on you can actually earn money!  Cool huh?!  When you sign up you will download a tool bar that will allow you to do searches just like the other search engines.  You will earn and collect points or Swag Bucks that you can then use to purchase stuff from the Swag Store.  Just 450 Swag Bucks buys a $5.00 Amazon gift card.  All this just for searching like you normally do!

Every Friday is a Mega Swag Buck day!  Search on Friday's like you normally would and you could earn anywhere from 10 to 1,000 Swag Bucks with one search!  Plus they randomly give away gift cards to some pretty cool places!  What do you have to lose?!
Sign up for Swag Bucks today!

Carter's BOGO Sale Online

Carters

Carters is having a BOGO sale online for their Fall Clothing line.  Use code: JULYFUN to get 20% off of a $50.00 order.  Ends Wednesday 7/27/2011.

Today I got (8) boxes of Colgate Total Advanced Whitening 4 oz toothpaste for a grand total of $2.87, courtesy of Family Dollar's clearance shelf and eight coupons. I was a good couponer and didn't clear the shelves during my visit - Family Dollar still has several boxes of this toothpaste. I can now add toothpaste to the list of items we are GOOD on for the next several months!

Papers

In case you didn't know, you can now buy papers at Wal-Mart and Walgreens.  I love this option for 2 reasons.  #1 You don't have to have quarters.  #2 You are much less likely to get a paper that has had the coupons removed.  There are some gas stations that also sell them inside.  E-Z Mart is one.

Leave a comment with any other suggestions to help people out!
